Want to Upgrade Windows 98SE ....................

to Windows XP ..... The computer using OS Windows SE 98 is
currently connected in a network to a computer running XP
..... If I upgrade will all the networking configurations be
preserved so that I can network immediately or do I manually
have to enter the configuration in order to restore the
network? Is there a web site which refers to this question?

Hi,

Yes, if you do a upgrade your network settings should all be preserved.
Please remember that if you are in a domain environment, XP Home cannot
join a domain so you will need XP Pro if this is the case.

Excuse my ignorance .... What is a domain environment and how do I know if this
