Hi - I truly hope that you will take no offense at my words, but it sounds
like you might be better off bringing in a consultant to help you out. If
you have to ask a newsgroup how to do this it may be beyond your skill set.
Newsgroups are good places to ask for help with specific issues, but what
you're asking for is really beyond the scope of a newsgroup post, even if
you provided sufficient detail (which you really haven't).

You need to setup all servers and workstations using the same subnet and
join the workstations to the domain.

IP#s have absolutley nothing to do with a Domain.

Join the machine to the Domain.
The users can continue to log in with local Accounts until everything else
pertaining to the Domain is finished.
Lastly the users will thne log in with Domain accounts to create their
profile.
Once their profile is created use the File and Settings Transfer Wizard from
the XP CD to copy the contents of their local user profile to the Domain
profile. Once everything is verified to be correct delete the local profile
and all of the local user account on the workstation except for the "factory
originals".

You have to know what you are doing for all of this. You cannot simply
"wing it" and hope everything works. If you need help call someone who can
physically come to your location.

They don't have to be on the same subnet.
