Wanadoo wireless with PCs own on board wifi?

Hi,

I have Wanadoo wireless broadband access, using Wanadoo's own wireless
router, which you can see at

http://www.wanadoo.co.uk/time/bb_wire3.htm?bbType=wifi

I have a laptop which is connected directly to the router using an RJ45
connector.
I have an ageing PC with no on board networking, which is using Wanadoo's
supplied USB wireless network card.

Both connections are fine and were configured by running a setup program
supplied on CD by Wanadoo.

I am currently awaiting delivery of a new PC (running Windows XP home),
which has built in wifi. When it arrives I want to be able to use its own
wifi to connect to the router. The alternative is to buy another wireless
card from Wanadoo @ £40, and use that, which would be stupid.

My question is, how do I configure the wifi connection to use the router?
The router has no manual and the technical support people kindly told me
that they won't help me because my PC isn't their product. I have a WEP code
btw.

Does anyone have any experience of this? All help gratefully received.

This is better explained in my other question above... WEP key too long for
XP.

SOLVED IT!!!!!!!!! I am so happy.

Actually, I still have no idea why this works but it now does, so I really don't care. I was messing around with various settings and I happened to tick the boxes marked....

In the 'configure' options

Network authentication (on)
This is a computer to computer network (on)

and in the 'advanced' options

Automatically connect to none preferred networks (on)

.... and it now works, WEP enabled. It now shows two instances of the available network. The one I'm connected to has an icon that looks like a portable TV Ariel. The one I can't connect on looks like the Professor Plumb's counter in Cluedo.

Wahey....

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo

I was wrong. The web pages I used to test the connection must have been
cached. It still doesn't work. I'm now getting an available network but it's
obviously peer to peer.

AGGGGAHHHHHHHHHHHH.............

go back to the router setting and ensure the network type is
infrastructure - as you mention you are using peer-peer -

email me directly if you need further assistance
