Hi
A client wants to setup his Server 2003 network as follows:
He has a LAN with Server 2003 and ADSL for internet.
At his ISP he has servers with databases that he needs to connect to from
his office LAN. They are on a "private" network at the isp. He has installed
a diginet link to the isp and had the ISP configure the routers. The Office
LAN and "his" LAN have become an extension of each other. Both LAN's are on
the same IP range.
Furthermore the emails are at the isp and are available through the diginet
link.

However now his internet browsing is going through the diginet link and not
through the ADSL as the gateway address is the diginet router. If the gateway
address is configured for the ADSL then we cannot access the servers via the
diginet route.
Further to this is an issue that pc's on either sides of the diginet link
cannot browse each other regardless of gateway settings.

If the two network sections use the same IP Range then they are "bridged"
which is a Layer2 "thing". The Default Gateway settings (which are Layer3)
should be totaly irrelevant. The Default gateway of the LAN would just be
the ADSL Device.

If it is not working by doing that,...then he needs to be working this out
with the ISP,..they are just as "deep" in this as he is and he probably
cannot fix it without them.
