The workstations spread all over 3 subnet. W2K SP4
DHCP server is on 4th subnet, separate subnet from
workstations subnets. For Win98 and W2K/XP Pro
that located on the same subnet(s), only W2K/XP Pro able
to get DHCP IP, but not Win98. If I put a fix IP
(relevant to that particular subnet) on Win98, the
network is working. I have decided to go ahead to enter
fix IP on these "problematic Win98" workstations
temporary without wasting more time (as I only given 2
days to solve it) so that the users can continue with
their work. But still I would like to know why and the
resolution if I encounter this again.
