I have a shared folder on NT 4.0 workstation machine,
over Novell network. Have set up all users on NT User
admin to have access....and all XP machines can access
folder, w98 machine cannot. Password is actually
blank...XP machines are prompted for password, and
accept. From win98, it sees the machine, but when I try
to browse, I'm prompted for password and no matter what I
type, it replies with password not correct.

I'm stumped....

Sounds like the user on the 98 machine is logging in with
a user name that isn't on the NT box. Have the user log in
with the same username/password as a user that is on the
NT workstation and it should work (provided that other
things ie installed protocols, etc are correct).

Thanks.....I had tried that and it didn't matter what
username I used, it didn't like any password. I tried
setting up the User Profile on the nt machine with no
password, a new password....but the 98 machine could not
log in.

I have another workaround to just move the directories
I'm trying to access to my novell server and that will
work...but its now just bugging me why I can't get the 98
machine to log in.
