Hi everyone,

I'm desperately looking for installing a VPN server on my
W98 computer, but couldn't succeed so far.
Am i right assuming that it is NOT possible to install a
VPN server on W98 ?
Thanks for your advise

It is possible but you will probally have to puchase a pay version or third
party vpn server.

One of the easier ways of achiving this goal is to get a router that
supports vpn and then use it's client software to conect to the local
network. If whatg you are tryign to do is take control of another computer
instead of actually conecting to the entire network then look for somethign
like tightVNC or pc-anywere. These type programs will let you conect to your
remote computer and give you control over it as if it was on you remote
computer. If all you need is access to the network internally then a router
with a vpn suport will do..

Hi Jazz,

What i am exactly looking for is the following
configuration: I have a local network with one W98
computer accessing Internet (ADSL connection), and I need
external people to access some of the internal resources.
When installing the RAS (Remote Access Server) into W98,
it does ONLY (that's the problem) allow to receive
connections through a Modem, not a Network card or service.
Are you aware of a solution ?
Regards
BJK

Windows 98 cannot be a VPN server, only a VPN client.
