First I would like to thank Feng Mao for helping me on my last post.

I have 2 locations. I will call them locations A & location B.

Location A has 5 windows 2000 servers. Recently I set one of the location A
servers as the authoritative time server for the domain, and it is syncing
with an outside time source.

Location B has one windows 2000 server that has been specifically set to
sync it's time with the authoritative time server at location A. A and B
are linked via frame relay.

The authoritative time server at location A holds all FSMO roles.

Whenever I do a "net time /set" on any workstation or server in location A,
they all are getting their time from the lone server at location B, and this
drives m nuts, because I want all machines to get their time from the time
server at location A. What could be causing this behavior?

If these servers are domain controllers, then this is the expected default
behavior. See:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;216734

You can change this by using the net time command on the client machines or
edit the registry - See:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;223184

Windows clients will sync based and the domain heirarchy unless you specify
otherwise. The heirarchy is as follows PDC emulator (Stratum2) (usually the
server set to sync with an external time source (stratum1), DC's in the
parent domain (stratum3), DC's in a child domian (stratum4) then clients in
the clild domain (Stratum5)

All you need to be sure of is that your DC in location B is syncing
correctly with the parent domain if it is then the clients in location B
will have the correct time also. The result you are receiving from the net
time command is expected.
