I have setup a mixed network of 7 computers running
Win98, Win2000, Win-XP and Server2003. I have the
Server2003 configured as a print server and the printer
is physically connected to this machine, a Compaq ML370.

My problem is with the XP pro machine. If I log in as
administrator the machine will print but if I log onto a
limited account (power user) access is denied to the
printer. I can delete the printer from the limited
account and reboot the XP machine. Then go into the
limited account reinstall the network printer and it will
work but after it sits on the network for about 30
minutes to an hour access is denied to the printer. If I
log off the limited account and login as administrator
the printer shows ready and will print.

I have had this arrangement since MS sent out the 2003 in
my ActionPac a year or two ago and never had any trouble
until recently. I have not installed anything new to
either machine except for the Windows Updates from
Microsoft.

does the limited account have access to the printer, ie have you shared it
and given the account on the server for that machine rights? and also set
that account in security?
still doesnt explain why it would work 4 30 mins though
