Hi, were expereincing an unusual issue on 1 of our DHCP servers that services
workstations. The OS is W2k3 R2 and DHCP is configured to run the Database
from SAN storage using W2K3 Cluster for resiliance.
The Other DHCP serves we have are behaving fine although they are configured
with Reservation's only and no open scopes, whereas the troublesome box is
configured with a combination and the actual issues are that at random Scopes
will either lose their Properties IP start / End settings and lease time,
they just becomes 0's (Zero), and this can also occur at same time but again
completely random we are losing Scope Options, we have to user class Id's
configured for 2 different type of workstation and as mentioned at random
either or both will be lost, just today had 34 scopes lose their router
settings.
The event logs do not highlight any issues with the server, and the behavour
in the DHCP logs appears normal, It is acting like the Database is corrupting
and then losing the settings but there is no pattern to this and i'm stuck
for Ideas, apart from decomming this DHCP server and building the Database
back up from scratch, which can be done fairly quickly from our scripts.
