Assuming you can ping the VPN resources by IP but not name, it is name resolution issue. It is better to setup WINS for browsing over VPN. These search results may help,

we have the VPN running and to do a ping to servers which are only
available within the VPN netowrk works.
But we cannot see the local vpn network, which you would normally see
if you are pysically in the network. Do you have to do more settings to
enable this?
