That doesn't mean it isn't working:
1. VPN doesn't provide for "naming". You have to do that separately.
2. The credentials you used do *not* log you into the domain, they only
establish the VPN connection.
Keep in mind that VPN is a "dialup" technology. It has the same behavor as
if you connected into the network using a dialup modem with a phone number.
1. The local "VPN Adapter" replaces what used to be the "modem".
2. PPTP replaces what used to be PPP
3. The IP# replaces what used to be the Phone number.
4. The Public Internet replaces what used to be the Public Phone Line.
