Hi all,
i have 2 servers (Win2003 SP1) that are domain controllers for a XYZ.COM
domain.
Both of servers are connected to Internet using a NIC and to local LAN
using another NIC.
Every server is a VPN server that have basic firewall enabled.
I have 2 child domain ABC.XYZ.COM (with a Win2000 SP4 server as domain
controller) and DEF.XYZ.COM (with a Win2003 SP1 server as domain
controller).

I can connect and log to VPN in both VPN servers and all seems to works.
I can ping every servers
I can connect to the shares of VPN servers (XYZ.COM) and to Win2000
controller (ABC.XYZ.COM)
The problem is that i cannot reach to connect to the shares of the Win2003
controller (DEF.XYZ.COM)
Are there some policies or settings that i must do to get my aim ??
Thanks in advance
Stefano

1. I can ping every servers: can you ping it by name?
2. Assuming you can ping it by name, what do you receive when using net view \\servername?

Hi Bob,
thanks for the reply.
1)
I can ping every server using IP
The Win2003 server don't reply using it netbiosname (WIN2003SRV) but only
using it FQDN (WIN2003SRV.DEF.XYZ.COM)

2)
see the above answer :-)

Netbios over TCP is activated in every server and every server works fine
when accessed using LAN.
All client in the internal LAN can see (and use) shares in every server
(including WIN2003 server).

Thanks a lot
Stefano

Thank you for the information. Do you have WINS server? it is better to have WINS in this case.

Yes,
we have 1 WINS server and this is the Win2003 server that "don't works"
using VPN.
Thanks
Stefano
