I have a few remote computers I would like to connect to using an ADSL
connection and VPN!

I have absolutely no idea how to set up a VPN, although I have
competency in setting up peer to peer networking with several PC's
involved, but would imagine VPN is a touch different?

Any pointers (URL's, how-to's etc) would be most welcome.

Hi,

Whilst I'm not offering set up instructions here I'm afraid, I've
found this software useful in setting up vpns:

http://openvpn.sourceforge.net

This software (free) can be used to create permanent site to site
VPNs, and is a good alternative to the Microsoft PPTP solutions (which
you need Windows server for to have multiple VPNs)

Theres not much simple information out there, most site want to sell you
a book about it or can be very technical in the extreme.

This URL may be of some use however, it shows you how to set up a basic
VPN in Windows:-

If you find any good sites yourself, please post them as I too am
looking for useful info on VPN.

Have a look at the Draytek website, www.draytek.co.uk or
www.howstuffworks.com/vpn.htm for some good information.

Very interesting site - lost me a wee bit towards the end but good
nevertheless.
