OpenVPN amongst others. Cross platform support (GNU/Linux, Windows,
Mac,...). Does what it claims to do. Easy to set up (once you read the
docs a couple of times). Example configuration files. Works well.

Yes. I'm using OpenVPN right now, to send this message. I'm using WiFi to
connect my notebook to my home network and have it configured so that I
have to use the VPN to get through my firewall. Many distros include
OpenVPN.
