Vpn Server IP same as Client

Hi,
This is my first attempt at setting up VPN (at work). I'm using
Windows 2000 svr with two nics. I have set up the server and can
connect from home. When I connect from home to work I cannot see (or
ping) anything else on the work network. I also noticed when I look at
the connection status, that my server IP is the same as the client IP.
I have set up a similar system at home (to test) and it works perfectly
- so I made both settings the same - still no go.
Thanks in advance for your help

I'm not sure what you mean by "server IP is the same as the client IP" but
to reach internal network resources on your work network you need to set up
a static route on the Windows 2000 svr with two nics at work so traffic
coming in from the outside can reach resources on the internal network. We
can help you more if you provide us some IP addresses.

Todd,
Thanks for your help. One nic is 192.168.1.33 the other is
192.168.1.34. My work gateway is 192.168.1.1 and subnet is
255.255.255.0. I hope that is what you are asking for. When I make a
connection to work and the network connection icon displays in the task
bar of my home machine, I rt click on status and it shows a server ip
of 192.168.1.33 and a client ip of 192.168.1.33. I assume the client
is me? When I connect to the test server at home the two ips (server
and client in the status dialog) are different.
I did notice that the static routing table on the work machine is blank
and the one at home is not.
Thanks again

These NICs on your VPN work server need to be on different subnets in order
for routing to work properly.
