VPN problems through new firewall

Hi
we use a Fortigate VPN/firewall to access a SBS2003 server, using the PPTP
VPN on the firewall not on the server, this worked perfectly till the
firewall died, we replaced the firewall with an uprated Fortigate and set up
the PPTP VPN as before. We can connect and authenticate to the VPN, we can
ping the server (or any system on the LAN) but when we try to run any client
apps e.g. Remote Desktop connection to server or Outlook the app appears to
start but fails. RDC stops with the server banner but no logon screen,
Outlook says "connected/updating" but never does and then says "lost
connection to server" then connection OK then off again. At all times we
canping the server.
I am trying to determine whether this is a Firewall issue or is it some
cached info in the server somehow relating to the old firewall?

Not expecting complete answers but just some new ideas of what to try.

Thanks

Colin

Seems to indicate the required ports are not opened up. RDP uses 3389 TCP &
UDP. Outlook connecting to Exchange uses over a dozen ports. You'll have to
check your rules to insure the traffic is allowed to pass thru the
VPN/firewall.
