Hello,

I want to buy the Windows Server 2003 standard OR Windows Small Business
Server 2003 Standard OR Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium.

The server will be housed by our ISP with an external IP.

Now the employes should make VPN connections to this server and see each
otherin network neighbourhood. So everyone can access the files on the
clients that are connected to the Server and everyone can access the files on
the server.

UDP / TCP / Broadcast. This all should be like they were connected via a
local network. Maybe with IPSEC?

Will I need windows small business server standard or the normal Windows
2003 server standard? Or what will I need (maybe SBS 2003 Premium)?

Is it possible?

Thanks,

Christian

Standard Server should be OK. If you want to use IPSec, the both sites must be static IPs.

Hello Robert,

thank you for you answer. I have an futher question:

> Standard Server should be OK.

So I also can use Windows Small Business Standard Server? Because the
includes Windows server is somehow limited=

> If you want to use IPSec, the both sites must be static IPs.

Oh ..., would a dyndns service do it? Or are for the client and the server
really two static external IPs needed?

Thank you for your answer,

Christian

1. Yes, sbs standard should work.
