VPN is always runs at the "upload speed" of the DSL (no, I don't know why).
If your DSL is actually ADSL then your upload speed is considerably less
(sometimes 4 to 1) than the "adertised speed" which is the download speed.
I cannot answer the "... http requests are being routed to the server and
then are forwarded back to the clients ..." because I have no idea what you
mean by that and have no idea of what "server" you speak of and what the
purpose or destination of the HTTP requests are.

2003... The Client and Host both have DSL Connections... however, when I
make an outside VPN connection to the sever the bandwidth drops off to below
dial-up speeds... Actually, all http requests are being routed to the
server and then are forwarded back to the clients... so both the VPN and
the WAN connection are slowed to below dial-up speeds... how can I increase
the VPN connection bandwidth to be that of my DSL connections highest speed?
Is it even possible? I am running an application at the client end of the
PPTP tunnel... I hope that I can somehow increase the overall bandwidth of
the VPN connection... PLEASE HELP !!!
