There are knowledge base articles on these topics, one for each version of
Windows for the most part. I had the problem on an XP client, and SP2 was
suppose to update it. Apparently the update to SP2 worked fine for a while,
then the problem returned. I switched the user from PPTP to L2TP and that
solved the problem (again).
