VPN Error 800, all of a sudden

Hi all,

recently, my boss reported that VPN didn't work anymore. The scenario
as follows:

XP Client, Windows Server 2003 Small Business Edition

he used to connect through VPN to the company's LAN which worked for
months and now suddenly ceased to.
To identify the problem, I tried to connect from the inside of the LAN
(means: no router, no dyndns, nothing) to the server, still returns
Error 800.

I can ping the server, NSlookup works, Routing&RAS Service is started,
accounts are given the permission to dial-in, no third party firewalls
whatsoever involved.

This problem really appeared out of a sudden, and I don't know what to
do!

Interesting: Doing a portscan, the server doesn't appear to listen on
Port 1723, though it should, as far as I know.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm here for two hours now and
running out of ideas.

Best regards
Flavio

Can't access VPN after installing XP SP2

Cause: the ICF block the VPN traffic.

Error 800 means that you aren't even getting to first base. It's either a
firewall problem as Bob suggested, or your RRAS setup is corrupt.
