I have: a main site with a W2K3 server with a FVL328 Netgear router/Firewall
with a new VPN established. This connects to a remote site (this site is only
a couple of PC's no server) using a Sonicwall tz170 Firewall/Router with a
VPN connection. The VPN is up and established using IPsec and is site to site.
I have one other VPN connection to another office that works fine and the
only differrence is that they have their own server.

Issues:

I can ping the remote firewall (local IP address) and external IP address of
the router.

The remote site cannot ping my site successsfully.

I have changed it (remote PC) to a static IP and added my DNS servers (ISP
are secondary) but t seems to to having a difficult time with DNS?

Is there something I am missing or ?

I posted this yesterday and received an email that a response was available
but I couldn't find it. (never happened before)

I am trying to resolve this as soon as possible and would appreciate your
assistance.

Thanks,

I am not sure which IP you are referring to? I can ping the remote firewall
(local IP address) and external IP address of
the router.

Actually the problem has changed:

After speaking with my provider it was determined that I needed the VPN
client software installed on the remote PC, since there is no server at the
remote (NC ) site. After installing it was tested and it asked for the
username and password to connect to the VPN. It then stuck in authentiating
mode. But that is probably a question for my Managed security provider.

The main question I have is given the VPN tunnel is up and working, the what
is the correct and easiest method of having my remote users login to my
domain over the VPN??

I really need to get this operational and appreciate your assistance.

Thanks,
