I had a couple of quick questions about VPN connections
in Server 2003. Is it required to have 2 NICs on the
server for a VPN connection to work through the RAS
server? Also, I have entries for HTTP and SMTP on my
router, do you need entries for PPTP and L2TP on the
router also? Any help on this would greatly be
appreciated. Thank you.

if you have a router, one NIC is fine. you should forward ports for PPTP and
L2TP on the router.

You do not need two NICs if you have a router which handles port
forwarding. You can configure the server as a remote access server (with one
NIC) and forward say tcp port 1723 (PPTP) from the router to the server. A
remote client can then connect to your LAN by VPN using the router's public
interface.
