Hi, all

I got a specail problem of vpn connection with our windows 2003 sbs server.
i create a vpn connection for the branch manager's home computer so that he
can remotely connect to the server. He can connect to the server without any
problem by running VPN connection manager... however, when he try to connect
to the files on the server such as \\sbsserver\folder , \\10.0.0.1\folder
from command line, he got "The network path was not found". I can use Remote
Desktop connection to connect to the server from his home computer using
adminstrator account. I uninstalled his Norton Systemworks software,
rebooted the machine and still got the same problem... any idea to fix this
problem? Tks in advance!

Cheers,

Ken

System error 53 - The network path was not found.

Symptom: when using net view \\ip or \\computername, you get system error
53.

Resolutions: 1) if it is domain environment, check your WINS; 2) if it is
peer-to-peer workgroup, enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP; 3) make sure the machine
is running; 4) make sure file and Printer Share enabled on remote computer;
5) make sure client for ms networks is enabled on local computer; 6) make
sure you type the correct name.
