hello all,

I order a VPN connection poitn to point between our two buildings, the
ranges are 192.168.120.0 and 192.168.121.0. the interfaces are
192.168.120.1 and 192.168.121.1 my internet gateway is 192.168.120.10
and my server(dns and dhcp) is 192.168.120.100 the network works very
well on the range 192.168.120.0 with dhcp and dns.

What is the changes that I need to do to:
1) install the dhcp relay agent on my server for the new range
2) the dns will identify the new range
3)any change more?

Thanks

With a point to point leased line you must have a router at each end of the
link, these should be identical routers. By default routers will drop
broadcast packages which is what the DHCPDiscover message is. I can send you
an example document which shows the interfaces and configuration if it will
help.

As for the DHCP you have two options:

1) Install a DHCP relay agent in the other subnet
2) Install a DHCP server in the other subnet

As for DNS, all you need to do is point the clients to the DNS servers' ip
addresses, routers pass these packets on without any interferance.

What sort of domain/network do you have? AD/NT4?

You could either setup a DHCP server in the second location or you will need
a server to install the DHCP relay agent on and then setup a second scope on
your DHCP server.

Try this to setup the DHCP relay agent:

http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window...d1edf1033.mspx

and this one regarding superscopes:

Now I begin understand, the DHCP relay agent it's already installed on
a router. Now I need to change the configuration on my DHCP server to
from scope to superscope. Please answer me some questions more:

1) When I add a superscope tand active it the clients from the actual
scope that already receivean IP will fill this?
2)What is the IP and mask for the superscope, the IPs for the scopes
will be the same, right? the DHCP and DNS server also the same?
3)How the server knows who is the DHCP relay agent?
4)The all computers on the 2 subnets will recognize will be recognize
by the name?
5)I can create a superscope on the SBS2003?

Thanks for your attention
