Hi

Remote VPN clients disconnects randomly.
W2k3 Sp1 server and Windows XP Sp2 clients (PPTP).
VPN connection configured with default settings by RAS admin wizzard.
Eventlog shows eventid 20194 with source RemoteAccess and "The reason
for disconnecting was administrative settings or explicit req."
Couldn't find any info on this one.
Have tried to adjust MTU size on vpn tunnel with no luck.

Any ideas ?

Jordan

This is some-what common when using lower end routers. Some Linksys routers
have found a fix by changing the MTU to 1350. Is there a lower end router in
play?

No low end routers in use.

It seems to be the w2k3 firewall routing / Ras whos falling asleep.
When this happens VPN tunnel is still connected, but no name
resolution on ping, ping OK on ip address.
Users have to disconnect - reconnect VPN tunnel to continue.

Have looked at log files in tracing directory, and it seems to be ras
routing whos got trouble..
Can't find mutch information about Ras log tracing / debugging.
Can someone point me to some info ?

Have you tried checking the physical wire or running any network scans to
see if there is a high packet loss?

Hope this helps
