Bernhard,

Hmmm. Can you be more specific about your network setup?
What kind of router or firewalls are you using?

My simple setup uses a Linksys BE-series router (with
firewall built-in). I plug my DSL into it and plug my
VPN PC into the router. I do not use any software
firewall except WinXP and ZoneAlarm. If you have
problems, shutdown ZoneAlarm. WinXP firewall causes no
noticeable problems with VPN.

Linksys is owned by Cisco, so VPN tunnels fly through it
easily.

The error message you receive may arise from a couple
possible sources. Your firewall(s) are closing down a
port you need for VPN, or your company's VPN server is
probing your ports and finding them insecure.

Hope this helps.

Cisco uses IPSEC and the MS Wireless router doesn't
support IPSEC yet, so you need to run the client machine
as a DMZ and your Cisco VPN will work...
