Assume that I have a Windows XP computer on a 192.168.1.x network and
connect via PPT to a server over the Internet. The connection is
established. Now there is a computer on the remote LAN with the same address
as on the local LAN with the address 192.168.1.2.

How can I connect from the Windows XP computer to the remote 192.168.1.2
computer? When I try to connect, I get to the computer on the local LAN.

Olav

Sorry, that is the way IP routing works. If the target IP address is in
the same IP subnet as the sender, the packet is delivered directly "on the
wire"!

You have to NAT the traffic on both sides. Just follow the normal NAT
procedure just use two different subnets on each end. You would then point
to the NAT'ed address.
