Hi Everyone,

I am not sure to be in the correct newsgroup, I have got a general question
regarding different network issues.

I am pretty new to networking in general so bare with me with fairly simple
description.

I have got a work network: WorkDomain

I have got a few new employees that belong to different workgroups with
machines (desktop & laptops) in different locations and different OS (98,
2000 & XP)
They need to connect to the WorkDomain withtou their existing settings being
affected.

Most of the desktops located outside the WorkDomain will connect to it via a
VPN.
I am still working on this side and not doing badely.

My problem is with the laptops:

Example:

MyLaptop is attached to MyHomeWorkGroup

When I work at home it will be logged on and connected to MyHomeWorkGroup
and I will use the VPN to connect to the WorkDomain.

When I come into the office I will be logged on to the MyHomeWorkGroup and
will connect to the WorkDomain via a network card/network cable direclty.

From what I understand the laptop can not belong to 2 different workgroups,
is that correct?

What is the best way of making this laptop flexible and easy to use whenever
the user is at home or at work?

I would like the user to be able to change between domain & workgroup with
the least difficulties and setting changes.

Can anyone help? Any suggestion, comments will be welcome.

Thank you

Corinne

you don't need to logon tow workgroups. what you need to do is create the
same user name and password.
