VPN and no Internet access

I want to setup a VPN from a remote office to our site. I have a Cisco
1720 router. The remote site has a LinkSys DSL/Cable router. I was told
by a consultant that the remote site could VPN into our network, but not
use their Internet. But, I can put 2 Pix 501 firewalls at both locations
and the remote office will be able to VPN to us and be on the Internet at
the same time. Is this correct? Would the VPN session at the remote
office take control of their router and not allow Internet access?

Thanks,

John
