VPN and Internet browser problem

Hello,

We have Remote Access Server configured on our Windows
2000 Server SP4 (and all latest critical updates) at head
office.

Users in our branch office have a dialup networking
connection on each Windows 2000 SP4 computer to establish
a PPTP VPN connection.

The branch office users can't browse the Internet if their
VPN connection is established. They have to disconnect the
VPN connection before the Internet Explorer will browse.

This never used to be the case. Our head office server
crashed and I had to rebuild it. I might have missed
something while configuring RAS. Does anyone know how I
can fix this problem?

Thanks for your help,
Millie

I'm not sure if you checked this, bit look here:

Microsoft's PPTP client by default will route ALL traffic (0.0.0.0 Default
routes) down the VPN tunnel unless you tell it not to.

To turn off "use default GW on remote network" do the following:

Right click on the VPN icon, (or go to network places etc.) go to
properties. Select Networking tab. Then double click on TCP/IP)

Once there select "Advanced"

You will see the above mentioned checkbox. Unselect it.

Good luck
