If you are unfortunate enough to be cursed with Sky broadband, it is likely
that you email will still work. Unless your Vodafone mail was linked
intoVirgin somehow (?), it should work under your new provider.
You may find that if you had a Virgin email address that you could receive
but not send email (via SMTP) because you wouldnt be connecting to the web
by their network - this is a common security precaution that ISPs use. But
presumably, your Vodafone account is independent of Virgin and thus you
should not be affected.
As a general point, you also might want to use something more robust than
Outlook Express (eg. Thunderbird, Outlook or Evolution). There are flaws in
OE that are unpatched and will remain unpatched.
