I signed up with Vodafone At Home on the launch day. Complete
application over the phone as my existing connection died on me!
Customer service excellent - very friendly & helpful. Servic
seamlessly migrated away from my previous provider in 10 working days
Text messages sent to my mobile to keep me informed of progress etc. I
fairness to my old provider, they let me have the MAC very quickly (I'
been happy with them). They couldn't get their head round why I wa
leaving when they were unable to provide a similar offering, bu
happily put up little resistance.
The day after I switched over, Vodafone did a courtesy call to chec
that eveything was OK & I was happy with the service.
Easily as fast as my old ISP, but connection appears to be much mor
stable than before. Basically a re-branded BT package, but slightl
cheaper each month after the current first 3 months discount offer.
I understand from various news sites that Vodafone are supposed to b
rolling out a rebranded version of BT Vision later in the year. N
details available yet.
Advantage for me is that I save £19.99 a month by combining broadban
and line rental - added to which I get an uncapped service and free U
landline phone calls any time of the day.
However, unless you have an existing Vodafone mobile contract or ar
planning to switch from another provider, the service will cost £3
instead of £25.
As it's early days, there aren't many postings in forums yet, but othe
people also seem to have had good levels of service & an easy mov
across too.
pop3 access would be nice (haven't found any info on this yet) & bein
able to update additional email addresses also useful. However, I woul
expect the odd teething issue with any new service & I'm confident tha
this is something Vodafone will address quickly
