Oh My God.

What a farce from start to finish.

I'm beginning to wonder what I was taking when I decided to
sign up for Vodafones at home offering, £25 a month which
included all UK landline calls sounded good to me, for up
to 8meg broadband, for which a line check revealed I should
get 7mb.

Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong, the only thing
they haven't got wrong is taking the £50 from my credit card
for the router and the first months line rental.

The girl took my email address wrong so all the original
welcome emails were sent to the wrong address, and no, it's
not possible to get these re-sent.

My router should have been here by now, having already called
them twice and asking where it is, they assured me that it
would be here by today at the latest, they give me a tracking
number which *I* have to track on the royal mail website,
royalmail website helpfully tells me the number they've given
me is for a parcel that has been delivered. So I calls up
royal mail, the parcel was delivered and signed for in
Lanarkshire!

So, I now await my replacement router be sent to me, lets see
which bit of the country they send this one to, and all this
is before I even get to use their broadband, I'm gonna make
damn sure I throttle the connection in the 30 day trial period
I don't want to be stuck with them for 18 months if this is
what they're like setting up an account God only knows what
they're like if you need tech support!

Note that RM tracking information is only filled in *after* the parcel is
delivered. So it is useless to actually track anything - unlike DHL etc. where
you can at least find out were the system thinks it is. :-(

That's not correct. You can track your package with RM right through their
distribution network, just did it last week for an electrical delivery from
Amazon.. And far better delivery than DHL if you live anywhere off the
beaten track as well...

Course this probably doesnt help the OP stop tearing his hair out over
Vodafone

Maybe they fixed it. I was waiting several days for a parcel early this year
and it never showed up on their website with the tracking number supplied by
the vendor. When it eventually arrived I asked the postie and he said it would
not be there until delivered. Sure enough a few hours later it said I had
received it. To tell the truth it may not actually have been RMP now I think
about it, but it was *some* Royal Mail service for a small packet that issued
the aforesaid useless tracking number.

I dunno about that, I receintly has a person, not in uniform & in a
private vechicle turn up after 18:00 with a parcel to be signed for.
Wife signed & had the paper taken out of her hands before she could
put a time on it & when we queried the delivery we were told that we
had signed for the package at 12:30 that day..
