Hello,

I get a grey output when connecting using vnc from a win vnc client to
a vncserver on RH 9.0.
When I run xstartup in the /.vnc dir I get the following.

X connection to localhost:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server
shutdown).

Thanks.

If you can't get an answer here, try this list:

vnc-(E-Mail Removed)

What does the VNC log say? I bet you need to search the www.realvnc.com
mailing list archives for "Session Manager".

Don't do that.

You are not supposed to run .vnc/xstartup. You should run the
vncserver script and have your window manager get started in
..vnc/xstartup. I have my startkde script there.

Just edit ./vnc/xstartup and comment 2 lines indicated inside the file.

Run again vncserver to create a new window with the new options indicated in
xtartup.

Doing that you can connect to your XDesktop.

Hello guys,

I have tried everything you said already but it still doesn't work.

I used vncserver and not .vnc/xstartup but this wasn't working.
I edited the file and uncommected the twm line.
I have an entry for startkde.

Nothing.

Thanks for replying.

You cut off way to much. Start at the beginning.
