Hi. I'm trying to get a vnc connection going between a Windows-based
vnc4 server at work and a (Debian) Linux-based xvnc4viewer client
at home.

I can get the connection to the server is successfully established,
but it dies immediately with the error "Connection rejected by
user". I assume that "user" here means that the client-side machine
was the one that killed the connection, but when I look at my system
log files I see no mention of a rejected connection attempt. How
can I troubleshoot this problem?

Thanks!

This link may be useful to you. Did you set the password for the server?

Thanks!

Yes, but my mistake (I just learned) was that I checked the box
(in one of the config dialogs) that says "Prompt local user to
accept incoming connections". Doh!
