Virtual Server on usr8054

I just got a usr8054. So far it is working fine. I am having trouble
setting up the virtual server. I want to set up a VS for my ftp box. I
know what ports to forward. I have it working with my wired linksys but
I have having a hard time transating the linksys lingo in to the usr lingo.

Is there a way to remove the Virtual Servers that are already there?
For example there is already a VS for FTP but it is pointing to an IP of
0.0.0.0. Is there a way to remove this?

Thanks for the help,
Jeff

Change the address to what you want it to be, and hit "update". Or uncheck
it. I guess; I disabled the existing ones, and added new ones.

"delete" doesn't work?

If you want to establish FTP just highlight the FTP line and enter you IP
address in the box that has 0.0.0.0 then click update.

I tried it in IE instead if Mozilla Firefox and I could edit the Virtual
Servers.

I am still not clear on where I should set up the passive ports. If
some one has set up an FTP using the usr8054, I would appreciate some input.

I have FTP working through an 8054. When a session is downloading, netstat
shows this:

Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name
vv---- host ----vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
tcp 0 0 pc:55204 tricia.cc.gatech.ed:ftp ESTABLISHED 20554/ftp
tcp 0 0 pc:55293 tricia.cc.gatech.:57440 ESTABLISHED 20554/ftp
^^^^^------- port ---------^^^^^

FTP is port 21/tcp. I made sure it was allowed through the firewall at
Access/Protocol Filter (although I think that only applies to _incoming_
FTP, and hence doesn't matter). I don't believe any other allowances were
made for FTP. Make sure you're using _passive mode_ FTP; some clients don't
support that, although they should be pretty rare.

You are running an FTP Server behind an 8054? I am trying to set up my
FTP Server to work in passive mode with the 8054. With the wired
linksys I was using I had to forward the ports 21 and then a range.

Thanks for the help, but, I am looking for some help routing to an FTP
server.

There is only 1(!) browser that can be used to do the job. And that is
Internet Explorer (either Win or mac platform). You double click the
line that you want to update, then it appears above, make changes, then
click update.

For the FTPserver simply use the example already gives, you only need to
put in the correct IP adres.

PS: you can remove everything there is, double click and press delete.
they are there only as example.

Pity there is noway to enter a range of ports.

Only port 21 is needed to be forwarded the others (in case of PASV are
automatically).

No, only various FTP clients and an SSH/SCP server.

Hmm, that doesn't work with the 8054? Never tried it, can't comment.

AnToNio,

Thanks for the info. I set the virtual server up to point to my ftp
server but I still can not connect to it from out side of my network.
On my linksys I forwarded port 21 and then for passive I forwarded a
range of ports to the same address. I don't think it matters but I am
using bullet proof ftp.

It seems like there is more to it than just setting the virtual server up.

On another topic do you have any hints on connecting to another computer
using Remote Desktop Connection?

Other that these two issues the Router has worked well.

Thanks for the help,
Jeff
