Hi guys,

I used to use Virtual Server on my SMC barricade ASDL router. I was able to
forward a request on say port 80, to a computer on my local network on a
different port. Say 192.168.1.1 port 3000. Any guys know how I can do this
with the Netgear?

TIA,

If memory serves, that is a standard option on the netgear. Do you see it
in the router's setup page?

Thanks for the reply Scott. Nope, there isn't any Virtual Server in the web
setup. There is a rules page for the firewall setup, not sure if this willl
work. i'll test it later.

Update to the problem. I have got the forwarding of the packet to a local
machine on the LAN to work. Problem is I need to accept it on a different
port on the router and send it to another port on the PC on the LAN.

Anyone know how I can do these with the Netgear router?

TIA,

Looking at the manual, it should be added as one of the Firewall's inbound rules,
but I can't see any way to make the redirected port different from the original,
so perhaps it can't be done.
