virgin's WGR14v9 Upgrading Problem

I have a netgear WGR14v9 and I'm trying to upgrade the firmware but every
time I try I get this message:
Firmware upgrade failed. Please check your file.
I downloaded the file from netgear's website so there should be no problem
with it.

also does anybody no of anyway to add QoS to the router.
