would rather have stayed with VM but there isnt cable in my street

why is everyone putting them down so much? my connection was 90% most of
them time and 100% out of peak times or from there own servers

always maxed out my 20mbit connection when downloading from usenet

You must be their one happy customer. The regulars here find VM to be utterly
useless, including myself. I made the error of trying their cable broadband
earlier this year. Fortunately I didn't make the mistake of cancelling my ADSL
with IDnet.

Good choice.
I'm with them and there's no STM, no throttling, no over subscribed
UBRs, the speed you get is usually the speed you'll get most of the
time.
They don't give you a speed and physically reduce that speed when they
feel like it.
It'll be different if speeds were reduced by natural factors like the
speed a website can support, and the amount of traffic accessing it.

Instead the speeds are actually reduced by Virgin Media themselves.

I think it's cuz a lot of people have wised up to them now.

You were lucky.
Luck shouldn't have anything to do with it though, everyone on 20mbit
shud have 20mbit, after all, it's cable, not ADSL.

"Regulars" being the afore-mentioned Gonz & Eeyore, of course.

There *are* people who are getting the full stated speed of their service,
but happy people generally do not post to say so.

Oh be quiet, you turnip.
There *are* people gettin the full stated speed, and there *are* people
that are not.
Why can't you just leave those that aren't alone, and stop feelin the
need to say that there are some that do.

It's bloody obvious that some do!

And it's bloody obvious that those that don't, is increasin all the
time.
