Internet practically at a crawl this evening.

Have had to get my works laptop out and do a dial up just to get my
work done.

Where will it all end...

Jim.

When you go elsewhere as far away from VM as possible.

Do you mean this is a lie, never!!!!

http://allyours.virginmedia.com/whyc...and/fast.shtml

This is one of the reasons I left, blatant marketing lies. Told me that I
could not get the then 10Mb top speed because Edinburgh Council were being
funny about them digging up the streets. Were quite happy to take my money
for something they could not offer though. Broadband with Telewest was
great, with VM it got worse and worse..

Once upon a time I was with Tiscali and got broadband slower than
dial-up. It took all day to fill in a mortgage application!
Then I moved to VISPA who were pretty good.
Now I am with NewNet. Just tried ThinkBroadband and DSLGuideuk. Both
give me over 6Mbps download speed for my 8meg connection. Not cheap but
there every time I want it.
If you need something quick and reliable read the reviews and sign up
with an ISP that delivers.
I am a penny pincher but I will pay for something I need if I have to.

I notice you didn't reveal anything about which service you were on and what
problems you were having?

Don't forget that *any* internet connection can only go as fast as the
slowest point on the network. Maybe there was a problem with VM, or maybe it
was actually somewhere else on the internet.

Of course, I had no problems here last night, as usual.

I don't think it will be or there legal team would not let them say it!

One personn with one problem on one night does not mean *anything*.

I had nearly 6 months of slow speeds before I left them, I now have a 12Mb
(on their 16Mb service) service from Sky for £10 per month, much less than I
was paying VM for what was then supposedly a 10Mb service.
