Anyone else notice that news.cable.ntlworld.com seems very flakey in the
last few days?

Sometimes can connect, other times not.

Is there a more reliable news-server (without paying)?

It did the same a while back but seemed to sort itself out after a
while.

Thanks Abo. I've signed up to albasani to use as a standby. I've found it
doesn't host certain NGs I like, it is a bit slow and I don't yet know for
how long messages are retained - measures by which I assess an NG. It's
free. I'm not knocking it!
