Virgin.net (and others?) 8mb unstable in London recently?

Anyone been having huge problems with a very unstable line using their
Virgin.net 8mb ADSL recently? I'm assuming that it runs off BT's
service, so could be affecting other ISPs as well? My line has always
been fairly unstable with them (disconnects a few times a day), but
over the last 24 hours it's been virtually unusable. I'm on the
Putney exchange...

Still going on. Also my router keeps syncing at 2272kbps and not
picking up an IP address, which is very irritating as I have to
manually reboot it whenever this happens. Seems to be some kind of
"phantom speed" where you never get assigned an IP. Very strange.
