If you haven't already seen inside one from the one that's opened and
vandalised by you, then now you can )

There was a damaged one at the end of my road a few years back. When the NTL
installer came to fit my cable broadband connection the first time I tried it
out, I mentioned it to him.

He said it wasn't worth reporting, they never sent anyone out to fix them. Since
he was an outside contractor it wasn't his job to do anything about it either.

It was quite common for someone to report a damaged box in the support
groups, and to come back a week or so later askin why it still hasn't
been fixed?

There was one time when I pissed myself laughin when Alex Brown said
summat about he'll inform the box hotline about one.
Can't remember exactly what he called it, but I remember it had the word
hot in it, that made me think of Batman and the bat phone.

Should one laugh or cry ?

It was Thatcher back in the 80s who reckoned we could live off a service
economy. I wonder if she realised how incompetently such services were going to
be run ?

I lived in a council block in the 80's. I had to fix the external wires
for my BT phone becuase BT wouldn't come out.

So I guess not much has changed.
