Virgin internet connection

I live in a shared house which has a virgin broadband connection to a Mac via ethernet cable. I've tried unsuccessfully to connect a PC to the connection and always get the message - unable to renew IP address. Also the Ethernet connection on PC shows limited connectivity. Don't have much knowledge of this stuff. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to solve it. http://www.network-builders.com/imag...s/confused.gif
