From the bill that arrived today.

Bear in mind that I recently received a number of credits to my account for the
incorrectly billed 'broadband trial', mistakes on the phone charges and some
other credits whose details elude me now.

"An Amount from your last bill remains unpaid. Full payment of the 'balance
brought forward' needs to be made immediately. blah blah blah .......... we look
forward to recieving payment of your new charges which total £ -40.98 ! "

That's MINUS £40.98

And yes, they charged me £10 for 'late payment' too ! Yet I phoned them only 2
days ago and they said I didn't need to pay anything until 11 November !

Plus, this month's bill hasn't got the price reduction I was given on the TV !

IDIOTS ! UTTER MORONS !

The bills might as well come from a random number generator.

About thirty years ago a friend of mine got his supply cut-off for
non-payment of an electricity bill that was in credit.

I suspect Virgin could cut off your TV and broadband! It crap billing
software that has been written with the same bugs since computers were
first used commercially.

I've been examining the bill in more depth.

They haven't even added up the charges and credits correctly. I haven't yet been able
to fathom where they get the amount due figure.

It would seem that arithmetic isn't their strong suit.

I also reckon a call asking for a further £20.50 in credits (for misbilling of the
TV) is due too.

Snap, my October bill has gone up £9, I got through to Billing,
eventually, and they said my £9 TV L to XL reduction had ended after 6
months and I would have to ring Customer Support, this despite me asking
*three* times when I took the package if it ran for 12 months and was
assured it did, total clueless incompetents bordering on crooks.

And I'm still trying to get through to Customer 'Services'

There's a lot of this happenin to a lot of customers.
It was when they negotiated a deal for when Virgin lost Sky1 and news,
that was around 6 months ago now.
Some were told that the price they were given was for 12 months, and in
some cases even for life.
Virgin are not keepin to that 'promise' and as the case with you, they
are sayin that it was only for 6 months, not 12 or even for life.

Do you like the others feel like you've bin ripped off? )

I got caught out by this last month. I spoke to 'customer support' and they said
they'd re-instated it for another 6 months.

So what's on this bill ? FULL PRICE of course.

I've tried a couple of times but I got India and I now refuse to talk to them.
For one thing the phone line quality is shocking and that plus the accents means
you have to keep asking them to repeat everything and they seem to be relatively
unhappy about giving refunds. I imagine they don't know how badly the company is
thought of too. At least the UK staff sound moderately sympathetic when you
explain yet another billing cock-up to them.

That's worth forwarding to The Register and other similar sites that enjoy a
good laugh at companies making fools of themselves.

That may explain why I got a letter from them this morning reminding me
my debit card was about to expire and how I should update my details so
that I wouldn't get any unwelcome interruption in my broadband service.

Only problem is, I haven't been a Virgin customer for over two years.
