Have used Virgin for over 6 months, no problems at all.

Would recommend.

I have heard they are good, but note the 50p a minute telephone support.

I'm *fairly savvy* with the tech side,so hopefully I wouldn't need to use
it too often.
Most ISP's seem to be expensive tho for tech support,so 50p/min is about the
going rate is it not?

Cheers for the feedback.

Well I've just signed up to them and the connection is
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay slower at peak times than my NTL cable modem
connection. (I have both at the moment)
Which is bizarre as they are the same network backbone DNS servers are the
same 193.168.4.100 and the IP range is the same 81.107.xxx.xx

For instance, I downloaded the same 2MB file from the same server in the
states at the same time (two different machines similatously connected) and
on my NTL CM connection it was downloading at 120KB/s (Yep it's the 1Mbps
service)
On the Virgin net it only managed 20-30KB/s
I then repeated the tests with the machines plugged in to the other
connections and got simlar results on either machine

Now I know that this could be that my local exchange is contented etc... and
therefore not virgin.net's fault, but as the exchange only went live with
ADSL at the beginning of this month, I kind of doubt that
During the day it runs fine.

I only went for virgin.net because they have no set up costs and no contract
and I plan to only have the extra connection for a month (I am setting up
some servers for work that requires me to have two separate internet
connections)

I do plan on ditching NTL for somebody else as soon as there is an
affordable 2Mbps ADSL connection with fixed IP addy and no bandwidth cap, I
will be signing up ASAP
Though if this is a local contention issue with ADSL on my exchange, I will
not be a happy bunny (Though even NTL is starting to go slower just after 6
nowdays)
