Hi all,

Having just about decided to get the adsl router from ebuyer, I'm ready to
order the ADSL line. Was thinking about going with Pipex 512k. Has anyone
here had any good/bad experiences?

Have read a lot of the stuff on adslguide already.

cheers,

Dan

used them last year when the ADSL wires only first started for 7 months ,
just signed up with them again at my new house. Never had more than a
couple of glitches with the connection / speed.
Customer support was poor last year so I heard but I never needed to use
them.
Used their support line once this time as my line was active and I had no
sign in details due to the speed that it went through, the connection to
the support desk took some time but it was peak period during the day, once
I got through (10 min wait) it was fine.
When I cancelled to move house there were no problems , it was all done as
expected with no extra payments taken or any issues.

Overall I would highly recommend them.

I`m happy - been with them since Feb this year, with very little down-
time.

The IP address is "dynamic" but will often not change until my router
loses connection, which I think is more of a problem caused by BT rather
than Pipex.

PS: if you sign up with them, ask around on here for a "referral" -
they`ll get a free month when you sign up !

Just moved over from BT to pipex, have to say that pipex is faster and
quicker at loading WebPages, email is also quicker as I used to get BT email
days later.
I've been connected now for 5 days solid and not one peep, when I was on BT
my router used to drop connection like billy-oh.

I've had to use Pipex Customer Service once (Just to sort out a credit card
problem) and the guy I spoke to was really helpful.

Don't want to sound like BT was crap, but I was with them for 2 years and
over that time I had about 3-4 days downtime due to engineering work and
really slow connection speeds, and when I rang up to add one of my PAYG
email address onto my ADSL account, I got this stupid Asian woman trying to
sell me bloody broadband, HELLO I've already got it, took me ages to get it
in her thick skull!! and in the end they said they couldn't do it.

The reason I moved was because of a number of problems, being

Slow Web Page loading
Delayed email
Port Blocking on a number of ports
Dropping connections

The final nail in the coffin was when they switched over to BT-Yahoo, what a
fiasco that is.

I leave the final decision to you ;-)

Pete

Hi

I have just had Pipex home 500 installed and so far I am very impressed. I
had a little problem setting up the router and rang tec support. They
answered in under a minute (very impressed) and didn't try to rush me off.
We got the problem solved and everything is working great. I have had no
slow downs and email is working fine.

David.
