The person that I am attempting to video conference with
can see and hear me but I can not see or hear them. I
have tried disabling the firewall on the wireless
basestation but that does not help.

Any suggestions?

What software and base station are you using? Recent
versions of Messenger work right out of the box. For
other software you may need to open the ports it uses
(look under the documentation for the software) -- you
should keep the base station firewall running all the
time.

Are you running a software firewall (Norton, ZoneAlarm)
or the Windows built-in ICF on your computer?

Is the other computer configured to send audio and video?

I'm running Windows XP and have a Microsoft MN-500
wireless basestation with one additional PC networked.

Messenger was working until the other person added a
wireless network. I am now trying to use AIM.

I'm not sure how to open the ports (have the info for
AIM, not sure how what the procedure is with my system)

I am not running a software firewall, just the built in
firewall protection on the base stattion.

Any thoughts?
