Very Slow internet speeds

I'm new here, so forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong section,
please have a moderator move it to the correct location.

I am the head of IT for a company in an office park where most of our
internet connection is wireless, and with so many users on the same LAN
(a few hundred people at any given time) the connection tends to get
slow for everyone. I've heard of bandwidth shaping and limiting
software such as netlimiter, Emerging Technologies, and Netequalizer,
but I've never personally put any of them to use. Has anyone else
experienced this problem and found a good fix? I'm open to any options.
